The field of intertextuality and its related discipline, semiotics, is very wide, so you will need to be selective in your reading. Many of the concepts are complex, and sometimes appear contradictory, but extensive reading will help you gain a fuller understanding of the issues involved and will also provide you with a technical vocabulary and some methodological frameworks for your own analyses.
